Beer Can House!
Some of you won't believe this...but...here in Houston we have a house completely covered in Beer Cans. 39,000 to be exact!
In 1968, John Milkovisch, began decorating his patio with pieces of brass, marbles, rocks and buttons. Then he tore up the lawn and replaced it with similar glittery debris. (He said he got tired of mowing!) The house itself was next. John took beer cans and flattened them into aluminum siding. John drank a 6-pack every day for 18 years to "decorate" his home! The Beer Can House is being renovated now, and will soon be turned into a museum about Mr. Milkovisch and his house.
You have to read these stories about the Beer Can House and see these Pics!
(I was more impressed with the gate than I was with the house now because of the renovation, but I hope you enjoy the pic anyway!)
Nice shot!
:D
That's fantastic architecture! I used to pass a house out West in my travels that was completely covered with license plates. Did Mr. Milkovisch succumb to cirrhosis?
Haha, I'm not sure Suzanne! A 6-pack a day is an awful lot.
:D
amazing!!

while looking in the "Lillian Vernon" book where there are many odd but neat things to order, I saw a book that had like 2000 strange things in it. Under the discription there were only 3 things as a preview and THE BEER CAN HOUSE IN TEXAS was one of the 3 in this brief description. Thanks for the picture of this Odd but Neat thing!
