Harris County Mounted Police
On certain occasions, such as festivals or protests, the mounted police force is needed. Recently, I saw this beautiful horse taking a rest after a long day of tough work.
Can you see the Sheriff's cowboy hat in the dashboard of his truck? That is pretty common here in Texas.

This picture seems very "Texas." Was there a protest this day for there to have been mounted police?

I don't think there was a protest this day, Magikthrill. These horses were monitoring the Greek Festival we went to recently.
